- Back up your worlds: in Minecraft, edit each world and choose Export World.
- Install over: uninstall the Minecraft you have. Clone: skip this step.
- Open the downloaded APK. When Android asks, allow installs from your browser (Install unknown apps), then tap Install.
- Open Minecraft. Sign in with a Microsoft account to wear the unlocked capes and emotes.
Install over or Clone?
Install over replaces the Minecraft on your phone. Clone is a separate app that sits next to it, so the Minecraft you have stays as it is. Both work on every phone and have the same features.
Android says “App not installed”. What now?
The Minecraft already on your phone was signed by someone else, such as Google Play, and Android only updates an app with a file from the same signer. Uninstall that copy first, or take the Clone.
Will I lose my worlds?
Uninstalling Minecraft deletes the worlds stored inside the app, which is why the exported copies matter. Import them afterwards by opening the .mcworld files. The Clone does not touch your current Minecraft or its worlds.
