Minecraft 26.62 is a hotfix for the Wilderness Bound update. It fixes a crash on Nintendo Switch 2 and helps Xbox run more smoothly when memory is low. You can also reach mobs inside blocks again, and a bug with buying a Realm is fixed.

What changed in Minecraft 26.62?

Gameplay

  • Fixed the block outline getting in the way when you try to hit or use mobs and other things standing inside a block.

Stability

  • The game crashes less on Xbox when it is running low on memory.
  • Fixed a crash on Nintendo Switch 2 that could happen when lots of things were on screen at once.

Realms

  • Fixed old saved cloud sync settings sometimes messing up the settings used when you buy a Realm.

How to install

  1. Back up your worlds: in Minecraft, edit each world and choose Export World.
  2. Install over: uninstall the Minecraft you have. Clone: skip this step.
  3. Open the downloaded APK. When Android asks, allow installs from your browser (Install unknown apps), then tap Install.
  4. Open Minecraft. Sign in with a Microsoft account to wear the unlocked capes and emotes.
Install over or Clone?

Install over replaces the Minecraft on your phone. Clone is a separate app that sits next to it, so the Minecraft you have stays as it is. Both work on every phone and have the same features.

Android says “App not installed”. What now?

The Minecraft already on your phone was signed by someone else, such as Google Play, and Android only updates an app with a file from the same signer. Uninstall that copy first, or take the Clone.

Will I lose my worlds?

Uninstalling Minecraft deletes the worlds stored inside the app, which is why the exported copies matter. Import them afterwards by opening the .mcworld files. The Clone does not touch your current Minecraft or its worlds.
