Far away chunks get lower detail textures so you can push your render distance higher with less lag.

This pack changes how far away terrain looks, not how far you can see. Distant blocks get simpler, smaller textures so your game has less work to do. Close up, everything still looks normal.

It does not extend your render distance on its own and does not need extra patches to work. You set the distance yourself, and the pack helps keep things smoother while you play. It is made for low end computers and phones.

More resource packs work alongside it now, so you can keep other texture packs you like. If you play on a weaker device and want a longer view, this can help a lot.

How to install Vistas LOD
