Short answer: Minecraft 27.0 is not out, and Mojang has not given a date. Versions released in 2027 will start with 27, and the big news for that year is The Sift, a brand-new dimension. Before that, a smaller update with ice caves is on the way.

When does Minecraft 27.0 come out?
Mojang has not announced a date. Since 2026, Minecraft version numbers start with the year: everything released in 2026 is 26-something (26.0, 26.10, 26.52 …), and everything released in 2027 will start with 27.
In 2026 the first Bedrock version, 26.0, came out on February 5. If Mojang does the same next year, 27.0 will be the first Bedrock version of 2027. That is our guess from the pattern, not a date from Mojang.
One more thing to know: the first version of a year is not always a big one. 26.0 was not one of the big content updates (Mojang calls those game drops); the game drops of 2026 were 26.10, 26.30 and 26.50. So The Sift may arrive in a later 27 version, not in 27.0 itself.
The Sift: a new dimension in 2027
At Minecraft Live on September 26, 2026, Mojang showed The Sift and said it is coming to Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition next year. It will be the fourth dimension, next to the Overworld, the Nether and the End, and the first new one in over 14 years.
- The Sift first shows up in Minecraft Dungeons II, which launches on September 29, 2026. That is where you can see it first.
- Mojang named two of its places: the Meadow and the Carapace.
- Mojang also showed one of the mobs that live there. Fans call it the Blub, the name of a pet in Minecraft Dungeons II. Mojang has not said what the mob does in Minecraft yet.
- No blocks, items or recipes from The Sift have been listed yet. They will show up in betas first.
Before 27.0: the ice caves update
The next game drop, the update that comes before The Sift, adds ice caves. Mojang showed it at the same Minecraft Live. It has no version number or date yet, and it is not in the 26.60 betas so far.
- Ice caves: a new cave biome, like dripstone caves or lush caves, full of ice and calcite.
- Icicles: grow on the cave ceiling.
- Ice crystals: grow on the cave floor and give off a soft light.
- A new frozen zombie: a zombie that freezes you when it hits you. Some of them throw ice balls. Mojang has not named it yet.

Can I download the Minecraft 27.0 APK now?
No. There is no Minecraft 27.0 yet, so any file called "Minecraft 27.0 APK" today is fake. The newest real version is always on our Minecraft PE download page. When 27.0 comes out, the files will be on this page.
Will my worlds work in 27.0?
Yes. Minecraft updates keep your worlds. New areas, like new caves, only appear in parts of the world you have not visited yet. Old areas stay as they are.
