Magnificent Minimap

This addon puts a small live map on your screen so you can see the land around you while you play. The display can be round or rectangular, and it can spin to match the direction you are facing or stay fixed. Entity markers and a compass help you keep track of creatures and which way you are heading.

Most of the look and behaviour can be changed to suit your taste. There are several drawing styles to pick from, and you can adjust the size along with what information shows on the map. The nether also gets its own map, and a map atlas screen gives you a wider view of explored areas.

It is worth knowing that the addon is experimental. It can sometimes use a lot of memory and make a world hard to play until you reload it, and it has not been tested on low-end hardware. Mobile players hide the map by sneaking and tapping the X button, while keyboard players toggle it with F8.

How to install Magnificent Minimap

1. Download the Magnificent Minimap file. It is a .mcpack file.
2. Open the file. Minecraft will import it for you.
3. Turn it on under Global Resources for all worlds.
4. Or turn it on under Resource Packs for one world.
