Holograms on dropped items

Dropped items on the ground stop being anonymous clutter. Each new item that lands gets a small floating label above it carrying the item's name and how many are in the stack, so a glance across a cave floor tells you what is worth walking over for.

Two display behaviours are available. One shows labels only for the nearest items within a distance you set, and the other puts a label only on whatever your crosshair is aimed at. A separate raycasting toggle decides whether a label appears through walls and grass or only when the item is in clear line of sight.

The label text itself is opened up for editing. You pick the colours, add text before or after the item name, drop in your own wording, and split the label across several lines if you want. A settings menu reached from chat lets you flip the whole thing off, shrink the font, cap how many nearby items get labels, and set the range at which labels still show. It runs alongside other behaviour and resource packs and is built for multiplayer, though on a server it needs the experiment toggles enabled to work.

How to install Holograms on dropped items

1. Download the Holograms on dropped items file to your phone. It is a .mcpack file.
2. Tap the file. Minecraft opens and imports it for you.
3. Open Minecraft settings. Turn on the pack under Global Resources for all worlds.
4. Or open one world's settings and turn on the pack under Resource Packs.
5. In that world's settings, open Experiments and turn on Beta APIs. Then play.
