How to get the Aurora Cape

The Aurora Cape is a pastel rainbow cape made for the Dungeons II launch. It is only for Minecraft: you won't find it in Dungeons II itself.
- Watch a Dungeons II livestream that has rewards turned on, on Twitch for at least 15 minutes or on TikTok for at least 3 minutes. The time only counts while the stream is live.
- Do it in time. The window runs from September 29, 9:00 AM PST to October 14, 2026, 11:59 PM PST.
- Find your code. On Twitch it arrives in your Twitch Inventory. On TikTok it comes as a notification.
- Redeem it at minecraft.net/redeem by October 31, 2026, signed in with the Microsoft account you play Minecraft on.
- Open Minecraft with that same account. Then pick the cape in the Dressing Room.
Mojang's rules: one code per person and Microsoft account, and codes are limited ("supplies are limited"). So don't wait for the last day.
How to get the Hero Cape

The Hero Cape is the red and gold cape of the Dungeons heroes. It is free for anyone who played the first game:
- You need to have played Minecraft Dungeons (the first one) on your Microsoft account. It doesn't matter how long ago. Game Pass and Steam count if you used the same Microsoft account.
- Log into Minecraft Dungeons II with that account before December 31, 2026.
- When Dungeons II tells you that you can equip the cape, log into Minecraft Bedrock or Java with the same account. The cape unlocks there as well.
Dungeons II runs on PC and consoles, but not on phones. If you only play Minecraft PE, you need access to a PC or console, or Xbox Cloud Gaming, for the one login. Our Minecraft Dungeons on mobile page explains the cloud option.
The Twisted Cape

The Twisted Cape came with the Dungeons II pre-order, and that offer is over. If you did pre-order, open Dungeons II on your Microsoft account and check that the pre-order items arrived. Then log into Minecraft Bedrock or Java on the same account. If you bought a boxed copy, first redeem the code from the box in your console's store.
Cape not showing up in Minecraft?
- Same account everywhere. Use the same Microsoft account on minecraft.net/redeem, Dungeons II and Minecraft. This is the most common reason a cape is missing.
- Sign out and back in. Then restart Minecraft. Unlocks need an internet connection, and Mojang says the confirmation can be delayed.
- Aurora code never came? Check your Twitch Inventory or your TikTok notifications. Codes are sent by the streaming platform, not by Microsoft. Also check that the stream you watched had rewards turned on.
- Still missing after a day? Contact Minecraft support.
More free Minecraft items right now
The Camp Out community challenge, which asked players to place straw beds and cushions, was completed. Everyone on Bedrock gets four free Character Creator items: the Pillow Suit, Deluxe Shelf Cap, Sleep Mask and Red Shrub Onesie. You can claim them until June 16, 2027.
Mojang also brought back the classic Minecraft Dungeons Hero skin pack and added a Dungeons II Hero skin pack on the Marketplace. Those are paid packs, not free rewards. For free skins, see our Minecraft PE skins.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Aurora Cape free?
Yes. You only need to watch a Dungeons II livestream with rewards turned on for long enough: 15 minutes on Twitch or 3 minutes on TikTok, by October 14, 2026.
Do I need to own Dungeons II for the Aurora Cape?
No. The Aurora Cape is for Minecraft only and comes from watching a stream, not from playing Dungeons II.
When does the Aurora Cape code expire?
Redeem it at minecraft.net/redeem by October 31, 2026.
Does the Hero Cape work on Minecraft PE?
Yes. Mojang says it unlocks in Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition, and Minecraft PE is Bedrock Edition. Use the same Microsoft account.
Can I still get the Twisted Cape?
Only if you pre-ordered Dungeons II. The pre-order offer is over, so it can't be bought any more.
Does the Soul Cape come to Minecraft?
No. Mojang lists the Soul Cape (Deluxe Edition) and the Corrupted Creeper Cape as Dungeons II items only.
